AI is already here. It’s happening in many, if not most industries; its application in the business environment is growing fast. On many estimates, over the next 10 years, enterprise spending on AI technology will increase from $200 million to over $60 billion.

AI is already driving business growth, and rather than detracting from human contribution it will release workers to complete more creative and valuable tasks. A number of leading organisations spanning finance, law, healthcare, manufacturing, transport, energy, education and many more are looking to implement the technologies or have already started!

Useful in identifying major and emerging players that can help your business transform through AI solutions.

The above information is obtained from A IBusiness and Peter Xing

The purpose of the thread is to discuss investment opportunities in the field of AI.
Have a wonderful day and beyond. – Ben

Docker looks very interesting Ben. This is such an exciting time! Reminds me of the 90’s when I got involved with the market. The sea changes in technology were mind bending then. Now 20 years later it has the same feel! I don’t know too much about AI but didn’t listen to my kids when they told me to buy AOL and APPLE. Sigh. This time I’m going to pay better attention now that we have all these neat ways to do so thanks to the dot.com revolution! Here’s something I came across discussing Docker’s history and an analysis of what it will need to go public. Thanks so much for all you do here on gumshoe! I can barely keep up with the biotech thread lol! Best to you.

D.O.T has assigned 5 levels for autonomous driving. 0 being humans do everything 5 being vehicle does all driving in all conditions. Cadillac is currently selling a level 3 model. It can drive on interstates only. It also monitors the driver to make sure their eyes are still on the road. It will shut off if driver does not maintain operational awareness.

….and the $INTC share price just rocketed through the roof. damn, i never seem to be around when good things happen even if i just sweared the opposite xD

Again a great find SoGiAm, thank you for bringing this up! maybe there are still some $$ to be made.

as discussed before, i never believed Nvidia will be the only player, neither do i believe AI companies have too wide moat around them yet. also new competition is easier to enter stage nowadays especially now that there’s so much fearless VC funding around and make claims without even having actual product yet (i.e. Magic Leap). so many other things can be lurking underneath that we don’t even know of even if traditional semiconductor manyfacturers probably have the best means to try.

The Curious AI Company

Here’s another AI company. The company says it “…. develops artificial general intelligence”. They say it’s a third generation AI and it will enable AI as we’ve seen it in science fiction movies, an assistance to it’s user.

$MARK. MARK moving on up. Helen likes it per twitter posts today. 1/4 position as of today. Will be watching and studying. Then: “Software is eating the world”.
Now: “Artificial Intelligence is eating software”. Actually the aggregate value of AI, neural networks, deep learning, virtual and augmented reality will come to fruition in machine learning (imo).

Regards,
Frank

LABGENIUS LOCKS DOWN $3.66M FROM TOP-TIER INVESTORS TO HARNESS EVOLUTION

London, UK – 24 November 2017

London-based synthetic biology startup LabGenius has secured $3.66 million in an oversubscribed seed round.

The financing was jointly led by Kindred Capital and Acequia Capital with participation from Backed VC, Beast Ventures, Berggruen Holdings Ltd, and System.One. The round also included former head of corporate strategy at Microsoft, Charlie Songhurst and prominent angel investor, Tom McInerney.

LabGenius, a pioneer in the use of synthetic biology for the development of new materials, will use the funds to establish a purpose-built R&D facility in Central London and mature EVA – its autonomous AI-driven evolution engine.

“EVA is a Silicon Scientist hooked up to a bank of liquid handling robots. By combining intelligence with empirical exploration, EVA is able to iteratively learn through conducting its own scientific experiments.” says LabGenius founder and CEO, Dr. James Field. “Right now, EVA is unpicking Nature’s design rules with unparalleled speed and dexterity. Once equipped with this knowledge, EVA will give us the ability to engineer life with unprecedented control. Critically, this technology will give us the ability to harness new materials and therapies that we do not or even cannot fully understand.”

Leila Zegna, founding partner at Kindred Capital, commented: “We’re delighted to have backed LabGenius. The company is breaking new ground at the interface of synthetic biology and data science and the potential of their technology is vast”.

…not bad at all 🙂 this could really turn into something massive and beyond present comprehension.

thanks again SoGiAm, awesome find!

Ben – Help! This is my first foray into this thread…are there companies or areas you would recommend where I can further my very scant knowledge of AI?

$MARK

SoGiAm, I saw you and some others mentioned a few times MARK, i was curious to know what you thought about it at this time, after the stock pulled back, it can roll back down or break up from the wedge.

As a company they seem promissing, however the CFO aparently just sold some of his shares? What to make of this?

Also i know linling had an interest in it, and she is very smart and conservative in her investment usually, i was curious to see what she thought about it.

Any comments would be appreciated

Thanks
