I did not invest in teledoc when it was reasonably priced , however, now might be an opportunity the only issue i have is that you have no ability to create a relationship with one doctor. you just get anyone, and for me thats a big problem was the spike in price partly linked with hysteria over covid and now people realise with things going back to relative normality the want consistency. I noticed there is a stock called doximity where you are connected with your own doctor via video link. just wondering what people thought.

I invested in Teladoc a couple years ago, and COVID was indeed a boom for them — the challenge has been that it didn’t result in enough real growth in clients or partners, so it has remained a niche business in an increasingly competitive area. They’re pretty clearly the leader, but there are dozens of telemedicine providers and doctors who started out using more generic platforms like Zoom during the pandemic. I could never get a handle on whether they had a competitive advantage, so I sold when it hit my stop loss and would need to see some emerging real growth or real indication that providers or patients prefer Teladoc to the competitors to get interested again.
That’s just me, though, and I’ve not timed my entries or exits of TDOC very well. I initially thought they might have a real “first mover” advantage and the potential to build a strong network effect “moat” around the business, but that hasn’t yet been really backed up by their financial results.
