Porter Stansberry has released a new offer video. In it, he makes the case for the need of vastly more energy generation to support Artificial Intelligence power requirements. He gives the specs. of a small modular Reactor (SMR) company that ais lready producing functioning reactors for the U.S. military. Does anyone know this company’s name?

Now that the world has grudgingly decided that nuclear power maybe OK because it is a clean source of power, they want to believe that if was modularised it would be cheaper and quicker to impliment, hence the hype about Small Modular Reactors. One company even has SMR as its ticker. Rolls Royce is top of the pops in UK as an SMR champion but it has some strange bedfellows (Virgin for heavens sake! from the same guy who persuaded people to shell out $$$$ to fly a bit higher so they could experience weightlessness for a few seconds and call it space flight).
As far as I know, only BWXT built and installed nuclear reactors for US Navy subs and aircraft carriers so there is proof that at least one company is able to build small nuclear reactors, at a premium I bet. It’s unlikely that they were cheap (Defence contractors? be serious) and I doubt they would be modular (what’s the incentive?).
SMRs will not happen unless someone like Elon tries it and he’s too busy.

In my lifetime I’ve never seen anyone multitask like Elon, and almost always pulls his projects off. He must have a lot of good people.

I don’t think he does multitask – it’s the intensity of his focus that is exceptional. His success derives from being oblivious to conventional wisdom, drilling through layers of facile assumptions until he reaches the bedrock of first principles. He believes the truth (usually Physics) will set you free and then nothing can stop him – a Jesuit for the Nuclear age!
