Several folks have been writing in with questions about Stansberry’s “Dirty Thirty” promotion for his Big Trade newsletter ($3,000 for three years, no refunds), so that’s where we’re pointing the Thinkolator today. The pitch is not a new one — Porter Stansberry preannounced his “Dirty Thirty” idea last Fall and started selling subscriptions around November, […]

Porter, you’re chapping my ass. OK, that’s a little more crass than I wanted to be… sorry about that. This is a family website. What’s going on? What could be bothering your friendly neighborhood Gumshoe? Well, it’s greed. Porter Stansberry, in his latest pitch for a new stock investment to readers of his Porter & […]

Porter Stansberry, whose newsletters I write about from time to time, is revamping his new Porter Stansberry’s Put Strategy newsletter to focus not on his original plan — which was selling puts to buy bargains at even lower cost — but on betting on the demise of companies, and particularly (at the moment, at least) companies in commercial real estate.

And here’s the “tease” for the recent letter he sent out about this Put Strategy newsletter:
“America’s Next Major Bankruptcy (it’s not GM or CitiGroup)… Happens this FRIDAY at Midnight” —
What is this one?

Porter Stansberry loves to take strong, vocal positions on controversial stocks, and some of those have worked out well. He also rubs a lot of people the wrong way, partly because of his abrasive libertarian screeds and his aggressive marketing campaigns and partly just because he comes across as brash and wealthy. I’ve met with […]

Just listened to a two hour pitch from Porter Stansberry regarding TradeStops, which he’s offering (apparently today only!) for a mere $2000, a 60% discount from the market price. There was extensive discussion about how the VQ (volatility quotient) enables TradeStops to make much better decisions about when to sell stocks. Has anyone used TradeStops […]

Porter Stansberry has a new pitch for his firm’s flagship newsletter, Stansberry’s Investment Advisory, and it’s all about the decline of the dollar and the importance of owning businesses instead of holding cash — his basic stance is that “America’s New Money” is equity in valuable assets, not constantly depreciating US dollars. And he pulls […]

Here’s the top of Porter Stansberry’s latest order form: “EXPOSED: The Big Secret Behind AI “The most remarkable talent in financial publishing reveals how to correctly profit from the real winners of the AI revolution” The “presentation” from Porter this time is similar to past presentations he has given — half “big picture” argument about […]

Time for another longstanding Stock Gumshoe tradition — every Thanksgiving, for 16 years in a row now, we have looked back over our teaser tracking spreadsheets and called out one terrible pick as the Turkey of the Year. That’s the teaser pitch that provided us with the worst-performing, most-overhyped, or otherwise just the goofiest gobbler […]

We’ve published several updates of this article since Porter started his ‘secret energy grid’ pitch in early May of 2023.  The following has been updated and revised, though the “secret” stock remains the same. Porter Stansberry knows at least one thing with absolute certainty: Using high-profile people and saying provocative things in your teaser ads […]

Travis, I’d like to have you consider an effort to identify the best Natural Gas producers to invest in now. Stansberry thinks The Gods of Gas, the Rice Brothers / EQT and possibly Driftwood are the best options for a long term hold now. I’ve been with you a long time and have never asked […]

Yesterday Porter predicted an inevitable Debt/Credit crisis. Could any reader comment on your experience with his Forever Stock Portfolio offered for $2,000? Also if you are holding these recommendations, what US broker do you use instead of a large bank? Thank you.

Porter Stansberry is great at spinning yarns from finance history to build his arguments about current opportunities, and this “AI Die Up” is no different — he compares the enthusiasm about the “disruptive new technology” of artificial intelligence to the boom in Great Plains cattle ranching after the Civil war, which created boomtowns from Kansas […]
